After you've introduced yourself, you may begin posting IC as soon as you're ready. Remember that all new characters will have received a mysterious email to get them started.

Dear (player),
Your character (character name) has failed to make the required number of contributions to the game, as outlined in the game rules here (show link). As a result, (character name) has now been moved to Standby status.
We enjoy having (character name) as part of the game, and we would like to keep (him/her) in it. If you need help with plotting, characterization, etc., we encourage you to contact us, and we will give any and all assistance we can.
In order for (character name) to return to active status, you will need to make at least ten in-character contributions on 2 separate threads (posts, logs, comments, or any combination thereof) by the end of next period If the contributions are made by the end of next period, (character name) will be restored to Active status. However, if these contributions are not made within the time limit, (character name) will be removed from the game.
Please note that you are also required to tag your contributions, as well as respond to the bimonthly activity check; failure to do so will result in (character)'s removal.
Also, please note that while (character name) is in Standby status, other players may apply to play (him/her).
We understand if you have other commitments that may make participating in the game difficult. If you feel you will be unable to make the necessary contributions within the next period, please contact one of the moderators to request a formal hiatus. While on hiatus, (character) will be exempt from activity checks.

Dear (player),
We regret to inform you that your character (character name) has failed to make the required number of contributions to the game, as outlined in the game rules here (show link). As a result, (character name) has been taken off Standby and has now been dropped from the game. Please note that (character name) will be considered "missing"; the other characters will still remember any and all character interactions with (him/her).
We have enjoyed having (character name) in the game, and we regret that (s/he) is no longer part of it.
You have the right to appeal this decision. If you would like to appeal, please contact one of the moderators and explain the situation. We will decide what to do on a case-by-case basis.
If you would like to play (character name) again, you are welcome to do so. However, we would require you to formally reapply after a fourteen-day waiting period. That is, you would need to resubmit your application (which would be open to challenger applications) and have moderator approval before you would be allowed to play again.
