Concerned following his fight with Aphrodite during the hurricane, Odin finally got the chance to call Tyr, and told him to keep Sif with him in California until further notice. Sif and Tyr agreed to the arrangement, but were worried for Odin's sake.

For the other godlings, it was a normal day.

In the aftermath of the hurricane, even with Medusa having stayed over, Poseidon began to show Chelsea the majesty of the storm, and more of the side of him as Poseidon--something to which the girl was a bit surprised to find mesmerizing.

Seth, meanwhile, discovered courtesy of those in his employ, that Medusa had betrayed him to Poseidon regarding the scale he had given her, and he vowed to get revenge one way or another.

For the other godlings, it was a day much as usual.

A hurricane drew close to the East Coast, affecting the godlings there.

Aphrodite elected to ride out the storm in her apartment. While Seth, Poseidon, and Hades all expressed interest in keeping her company, Odin invited her to join him, and she accepted. Their time together was passionate, but there was bitter steel underlying it. Odin, not liking the harder and more primal side she displayed, quarreled with her, and she left in a cold rage.

Medusa braved the fury of the storm to run to her lab and make sure it was safe and secure, while being distracted by a phone call from Poseidon once she arrived.

Poseidon discussed his enjoyment of the weather with Aphrodite, Seth, and Odin, reminiscing about the storms he used to see.

Several of the male godlings began to have disturbing nightmares regarding the women they cared about.

Asclepius dreamt of dark forces haunting and hurting Nimue, and he quickly checked on her, begging her to be cautious when scrying.

Tyr dreamt of Sif being killed by a great wolf, and immediately contacted her to be sure she was all right. Sif assured him she was fine, but agreed to fly out to California to see him at the earliest opportunity.

Achilles dreamed of Erato's death on a battlefield, and insisted on checking up on her.

Apollo dreamed of shadows attacking his Muses, and immediately demanded to know that they were all right. He also decided that they needed protecting, and insisted that both of them be placed under 24/7 guard until further notice, volunteering to watch over Urania, and conscripting Achilles into guarding Erato--Achilles agreed, especially after Apollo promised that this favor would erase any bad blood between the two of them.

It was a day of academic firsts for the godlings. Erato had her first day of college classes, and was excited to learn to write her name again in the ancient Greek alphabet and read a few simple Latin sentences on her own. For Asclepius, his daughters also had their first days of the new school year: Emily now in the second grade, and Haley entering kindergarten.

As promised, Aphrodite took Chelsea out to do some back-to-school shopping. During the trip, though, Aphrodite explained to Chelsea some of the situation regarding the godlings. Despite Aphrodite's assurances, Chelsea began to worry that she would be left behind and forgotten if Poseidon ascended the throne to Olympus.

Narcissus and Aphrodite complained about summer fashion disasters.

Poseidon, having noticed some changes in Chelsea's behavior, complained and threatened to maintain or even clamp down his control on her. Medusa chastised him, ultimately got Poseidon to ask her on a dinner date, and had a chat with Chelsea herself. Hades also exchanged barbs with Poseidon over it. Aphrodite offered to take Chelsea shopping for school clothes and supplies.

Sif tipped a private message to Odin, notifying him of Aphrodite's recent visit. Odin requested her to follow up with information-gathering on her and Hades. Also, Tyr mentioned to Odin that his daughter had been having strange dreams as of late...

In the meantime, Achilles invited Erato to a lovely summer day in the park, resulting in the two of them confessing their feelings for one another.

Odin scoffed at the universe in the wake of the godlings' recent hotel detour. Other godlings joined in to share their thoughts on the matter with him (Seth surly, Ariadne thoughtful, and Poseidon uncaring).

Despite his uncaring appearance to Odin, it was clear the tension of the situation had gotten to Poseidon, as he found himself paying a visit to Medusa, almost in spite of himself, in an attempt to release some of his inner tension.

Returning to the real world, the godlings soon got back to their usual routines.

Aphrodite began working on a "special commission," as she called it, which is, in fact, her own wedding gown, as she assumes she'll be needing it in the relatively near future.

In preparation to head off to college, Erato quit her job at the Sidewalk Coffee Company. On her last day of work, she received a dozen roses with a card that said "Miss you! ~M" She has yet to see Mark in person since July 4th.

After asking to formally court her as soon as they got back, Asclepius and Nimue had their first formal date at his home on July 20th. They spent as much time together as they could, and they both continued trying to research their situation, with Nimue seeking advice on the subject from Gawain.

The weekend of July 22nd saw Tyr and his daughter visiting Sif in Chicago. While there, Tyr confessed his feelings to her, and they agreed to begin dating.

On July 24th, Dionysus gathered a party of several hundred people outside of Yakima, Washington that ultimately resulted in 30 arrests.

Ariadne went back to work as usual, but came to Lincoln, Nebraska to visit Gawain over a romantic weekend between August 5th and the 7th.

Odin had a grand time celebrating his 35th birthday the weekend of August 7th, receiving a homemade card from Tyr and his daughter, a homemade German chocolate cake from Sif, and a visit from Aphrodite, where she bestowed on him a beautifully-inlaid drinking horn filled with aged mead--among other delights.

Urania went back to life as usual, but began doing more research into mythology and astrology, hoping to regain some of her memories, until she was "kidnapped" along with Erato by Apollo to celebrate his 35th birthday on August 7th.

Medusa tried to dodge Poseidon after his unpleasantness following her initial flirtation with Apollo, only to be surprised when the sun god himself showed up to visit on August 8th. However, she insisted on her loyalty to Poseidon, and Apollo ultimately left New York with something of a bruised ego. On August 10th, Medusa narrowly escaped a rape, thanks to Poseidon's help. The two ultimately smoothed over their differences from before.

For everyone else, life was blessedly normal again.
