The last of the maenads arrived in Seattle, and the trouble finally came to a head.

Nimue, sensing trouble with them was afoot, immediately contacted Hades and Poseidon, pleading with them to come to Seattle as soon as possible to deal with the threat. Both agreed, and booked the earliest planes they could. Poseidon left Chelsea in Triton's care, warning him not to let her come to any harm, and took Medusa with him. Hades called Persephone to let her know the situation, and she wished him a luck and love.

Meanwhile, most of the local Seattle godlings were hurrying to meet at Nimue's shop. An extremely on-edge Apollo was sent to the airport to pick up guests, and happened to meet Poseidon and Medusa there. After a very tense ride, they entered the meeting with Nimue, Ariadne, Arthur, Gawain, Hades, and Asclepius.

During this time, the maenads had converged on the campus of the University of Washington-Seattle--in particular, the dormitory that Erato called home--and were calling Dionysus to meet them there. Vivien was the one to find the Muse, and the synergy of their power soon put young Erato into a trance-like state under the maenads' influence. Before she completely succumbed, however, Vivien instructed Erato to send out an invitation to the other godlings, asking them to come to the dorm for "the party of the century." Dionysus immediately accepted her invitation, but Persephone, Achilles, Urania and Nimue (after Arthur alerted her that the posting had gone up) were all concerned and suspicious about the situation.

Apollo, upon finding out about Erato's invitation, knew immediately that this was the doing of the maenads and struggled to keep his temper in check. Realizing the danger and severity of the situation, the godlings worked to come up with a plan to stop the maenads and rescue the young Muse, and headed off to the dormitory as quickly as they could.

While the godlings were formulating their plan of attack, Dionysus arrived at the dormitory and wasted little time in locating Erato, who had been seduced mentally and physically by Vivien. He commended Vivien on her good work, and very quickly engaged in sexual contact with the young Muse, entirely under the maenads' influence by that point and unaware of her actions. As they left her room, the other students in the dormitory, raised to a frenzy by the power of Dionysus, the maenads and Erato, also shared her, but she was mainly coupled with Dionysus.

When the other godlings arrived at the dormitory to mount the rescue mission, they broke up into groups. Ariadne and Nimue stayed behind so as not to become liabilities, Medusa went with Poseidon while Hades went off by himself to round up the maenads, and Asclepius, Arthur, Gawain and Achilles followed Apollo to find Erato. Before going in, Apollo begged Medusa to help break the maenads' influence over Erato in case he wouldn't be able to do it himself. Poseidon was annoyed by the sun god's plea, but Medusa tacitly agreed to do so if need be.

Once inside, the godling men were faced with a teeming madhouse of drunkenness, sex, violence and death. Poseidon muscled through the power of the influence coming off combined force of the maenads, Erato and Dionysus, as well as several drunken co-eds. Though it took considerable force of will between him and Medusa, Poseidon found and was able to break the power of the maenads Wendy, Margaret and Cloe, and turn their loyalty to him (converting them to nereids rather than maenads in the process). Hades did what he could to stop some of the carnage and give the dead inside some semblance of dignity. He received some assistance from the spirits of the dead, but had to fight off a frenzied mob when he encountered the twins Alice and Eva. He was able to fend them off and used his power to break the twins' connection to Dionysus and win their loyalty for himself.

After having promised to update Urania periodically on the goings-on, and giving a rousing pep talk to his mortalborn group, Apollo led them in to find Erato. Asclepius did what he could to help any survivors. Gawain suggested playing classical music to help soothe the frenzied students and maenads, but it was no use. Meanwhile, Achilles took off down a hallway, only to be pounced by the maenad Rebecca. Apollo tried to pull her off Achilles and get information from her, but he didn't get far before rage overtook Achilles and he killed the maenad (despite all their warnings not to kill them). When they did finally find Erato, she was virtually naked and in flagrante delicto on a table with Dionysus, much to everyone's fury, and the room was guarded by Vivien. Gawain attacked Dionysus with the radio to get him off the Muse, and Apollo caught her.

Vivien escaped into unknown whereabouts (but not before setting one wing of the dormitory on fire), while Dionysus was dragged out of the building by the Celts, being royally reamed out and physically attacked mostly by a raging Apollo. Erato, wrapped in Apollo's jacket to help preserve her warmth and modesty, lost consciousness as soon as the influence over her was broken. An exhausted Asclepius carried her back to his car, and asked Nimue to help him nurse her back to health in the safety of his home. She readily agreed to help, and even assisted in procuring a temporary wardrobe for the girl. Asclepius documented her injuries, made sure she was all right, and tucked the Muse into bed, but refused to clean or heal her until it was decided whether or not Erato was going to press charges for what she had experienced. Nimue spent the night at the Muse's bedside after Asclepius had gone to sleep.

Once Apollo had finished thoroughly chastising Dionysus and was calm enough to do so, he proceeded to thank everyone he could for helping rescue Erato. Arthur, having struggled mightily not to succumb to the temptations that the maenads had stirred in him, found Apollo impossible to resist in the immediate aftermath. In his gratitude, Apollo took Arthur back to the hotel where he was staying--and very quickly found himself being kissed quite soundly by the Celtic king. Apollo was grateful for the opportunity to release all the pent-up energy, and they engaged in a surprisingly romantic lovemaking session. Apollo stayed the entire night with Arthur.

Hades called Persephone as soon as things calmed down enough for him to do so. He briefly explained what had happened, and told her about his two new maenad minions. Persephone was concerned, but understanding. In need of a friendly face after all the horror inside the dormitory, Hades agreed to meet Persephone as soon as he would be able to do so.

For the other godlings not involved, it was a fairly normal day.
