Quite by surprise, the godlings were again kidnapped, this time arriving at La Theâtre Jeu Ancien, where, much to their protest, Nigel explained that the godlings were to put on their own production of "A Christmas Carol" for a one-night-only performance that very evening. For reasons unexplained, neither Achilles nor Poseidon showed up for their roles, and so the lead was given to Hades instead and other godlings filled in for Achilles.
Melpomene and Dionysus quickly came to blows in each other's presence prior to the show starting, but it was broken up by Erato and Apollo.
The performance itself went fairly smoothly, considering there were no scripts, although things nearly got out of hand during the second act when the synergy of Dionysus, Aphrodite, Lilith, Erato and others onstage at the same time came together, especially between Erato, Dionysus and Loki, but it was worked through.
Backstage, despite the warnings, Dionysus tried to follow Erato to act upon the stirrings generated during the second act, and Melpomene and Apollo were quick to come to her defense. Erato insisted that the chasing end that night, and took care of it after the curtain call.
During the play, each of the pantheons also received a clue hinting at the locations of their epicenters.
