» Mythology:
Athena is the daughter of Metis and Zeus. Her birth is not quite so unique to have popped out of a body part of her father(But she did it first, Dionysus) after he had devoured her pregnant mother. Then another god (sometimes Hephaestus, Triton, Prometheus, Ares, Hermes, or Palaemon) split his skull open to let her out.
Much of Athena’s history entangles her with other gods, and through those connections, defines her character as well.
Poseidon:
Athena and Poseidon had a significant rivalry. Particularly over the city of Athens. Both Athena and Poseidon had a prominent cult following in the city, so finally a contest was proposed to chose the city’s patron. Each god gave a gift, and the people chose which they preferred. Poseidon created a salt water spring, which allowed the city to have a sea trade and a naval armada. Athena’s gift was the olive tree, which provided food, wood, and oil. The people chose Athena , viewing her gift as the most useful. They had another feud over another city, but to that one Zeus stepped in and told them to share.
Poseidon also seduced/raped one of Athena’s priestess, Medusa, inside Athena’s temple. Athena was enraged by the slight, and transformed Medusa into a gorgon. Eventually, she instructed the hero Perseus on how to kill Medusa. Once he was done with the gorgon’s head, he gifted it to the goddess, who in turn, mounted it on her Aegis.
In some versions of the myth, Poseidon was the one who convinced Hephaestus to make a move on Athena. She spurned Hephaestus’ advances, and the result was Erichthonius, who was born when Hephaestus spilt his seed on the Earth during the attempted rape. Athena did, however, agree to foster the boy.
Athena was fostered by Poseidon’s son, Triton. Triton’s daughter, Pallas, was like a sister to Athena, and they did everything together. They were also always competing with one another all the time. During one such friendly competition, Athena accidentally killed Pallas with a spear. She adopted Pallas’ name as her own in memory of her foster sister. However, Triton promptly sent her back to Olympus after this.
Athena also protected Odysseus from Poseidon during his journey home, offering nearly constant assistance to keep the hero safe.
There are a few instances where they do end up working together. One was in dealing with Ajax the Lesser. After barely surviving Athena’s attacks, Poseidon finished the arrogant mortal off.
Apollo:
Apollo and Athena had an up and down relationship. Athena once invented a type of flute, that when she played it, made her cheeks puff out. She was teased about how she looked and tossed the instrument away, only for it to be found by Marsyas. Marsyas then challenged Apollo to a contest, using the flute as his instrument. Apollo won the match, but without the cast-off flute, the incident might never have occurred.
When Orestes was to be judged for his murder of his mother, Apollo acted in his defense. Athena was asked to judge the trial, and ruled in Apollo’s favor, despite the fact that Apollo’s argument for Orestes’ innocence was based on the idea that men were the sole givers of life.
Cassandra, a princess of Troy, sought Athena’s protection once the Greeks had taken the city. Cassandra had received her gift of sight from Apollo (though the two had a slight falling out), and was a resident of the city that Apollo had sponsored during the war. And despite being on opposite sides, Athena took Cassandra’s rape, by Ajax the Lesser, very seriously, as the girl was a supplicant in her temple at the time. She even teamed up with Poseidon to see Ajax punished.
Athena also favored Asclepius, Apollo’s son. She aided him in his medical pursuits, even giving him the blood of Medusa for research.
Ares:
Athena and Ares were also rivals. Both being battle gods, but representing different aspects of it. Ares embodied battle lust and destructiveness, while Athena was about military strategy.
During the Trojan war, Ares promised Hera and Athena that he would fight on the Greek side. (Hera and Athena were on the same side, thanks to having lost during the golden apple incident, that actually ended up triggering the war in the first place.) But Aphrodite convinced him to fight for the Trojans. During mid-battle, Athena saw Ares fighting for the other side, and asked Zeus if she could kick him off the battle field. Zeus gave his permission. So Athena instructed Diomedes to attack Ares, and guided his spear, injuring the god. Ares retreated to Olympus to heal.
Later, when the gods were again allowed to re-enter the war, Ares attacked Athena to avenge his original injury. But she overpowered him, and struck him with a boulder.
Zeus:
Athena was Zeus’ favorite daughter. When Zeus first lay with Metis, he feared her offspring, because a prophecy stated that any child of Metis would be greater than its sire. So Zeus swallowed Metis hoping to avoid this fate. However, when Athena was born from Zeus’ head, she did not make any move to usurp her father’s throne. Instead, she sought to serve him to the best of her many abilities. She was nearly always depicted as helping to further Zeus’ interests, and protecting his throne. She also aided many of Zeus’ hero sons.
She helped Heracles with his labors, teaching him the trick to skin the Nemean Lion, helping him kill the Stymphalian Birds, and guiding him through the Underworld to capture Cerberus. Heracles, in turn, agreed to help the gods against the Gigantes, when Athena was sent to ask him for assistance. And during this battle Athena continued to assist Heracles in defeating his foes. She also fought directly in the war of the Giants. She threw the island of Sicily at Enkelados, crushing him beneath it when he tried to flee. She also skinned the Giant Pallas, and wore it for protection. And she was attributed with slaying a dragon the Giants sent after her, and throwing it into the sky, creating the constellation Draco.
Athena also heavily aided Perseus in his quest for Medusa’s head. She instructed him to find the Hesperides first, because they had a vital item he would need. She also (along with other gods) gave him a gift. Hers was a polished shield. Perseus used this to view Medusa without being turned to stone. When Perseus returned his borrowed items to the gods, he gave Medusa’s head to Athena as a gift. She mounted it on the Aegis, Zeus’ shield, which she carried. The goddess also placed Perseus’ wife, Andromeda, among the stars after her death, so Andromeda could be with her husband.
Athena was challenged to a weaving contest by Arachne. Athena wove a tapestry of depicting her victory of her uncle Poseidon for the city of Athens, while Arachne depicted many of Zeus’ infidelities. Though Arachne’s skill was flawless, the content of her tapestry enraged Athena. The goddess promptly destroyed the offending tapestry and the loom it was on, and transformed Arachne into spider.

Her physical resilience increased so that she can take substantial blunt force damage before being injured, and puncture or stab wounds require a great deal of force and/or velocity to break skin.

1588- She was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth I. She was a close confidant and adviser to the Queen and helped to keep the Queen’s romantic liaisons a secret so that she would be able to maintain her public persona of being a virgin queen.
1857- She was a governess in a London household. She was an excellent teacher, but never married.
1940- She joined the flood of women going into the workforce to fill the void that the men left. She was an actual “riveter”, working on manufacturing tanks.
Current- Petra grew up in the nowhere town of Poughkeepsie, New York. Her life was fairly nice, but unglamorous. When her mother died of cancer when she was 12, life got harder on her and her dad. Jackson Conrad was a truck driver, and it was common for him to be on the road for weeks at a time. But Petra never complained, and took care of herself. If a form needed to be signed, she forged her dad’s signature. If a meeting had to be scheduled, she made sure that it was always when he’d be home. She took care of all the around the house maintenance, because she had to. So she got skilled with lots of things very quickly.
Her father and she developed a very efficient, but loving, relationship. Whenever he was home they shared a lot together. They both had a love of hunting, and it became a yearly ritual for them to spend weekends, during deer and duck season, out in the woods together.
She found an aptitude for just about everything, but she really fell in love with computers. She learned their ins and outs, and kept up to date on them at all times. She hacked into the 4chan server, and was granted a job with the Anonymous grouping (as that is their form of a job interview). She merely did it to prove to herself that she could, seeing as how she couldn’t very well tell anyone about the accomplishment.
She has applied to several colleges, and is in the midst of deciding where exactly she intends to go to school. She has an option of a few Ivy League schools, but applied for a few others as well.

Petra is an independent introverted teenager. She has a sarcastic sense of humor, a small bit of attitude and a bit of disdain towards many authority figures. She follows the rules that she believes should be followed, but she’s not the type of person that gives respect just because of someone’s position. She believes that a person is always working to earn respect. It should never simply be given.
She can come off a bit arrogant because she is good at nearly everything. And if she applies herself, she can easily be great. So with that knowledge of herself comes confidence. Coupled with her sarcastic nature, she can seem almost over confident. Though she feels she’s only being over confident if she can’t back up her claims.
She likes to learn, and spends a lot of her time reading. She loves intelligent conversation, and if she feels someone is informed enough on the topic, she’ll sit and listen to them talk for as long as they feel like it.
Since her mother’s death, she avoids deep relationships, in all areas. She can be super friendly and sociable when the mood strikes, but she always holds back parts of herself. She tries to keep people at arms length because she does not want to get hurt by losing them. Though that does make for a lonely existence, and inside she craves companionship.
She likes to be called Pete, so if you call her Petra and she lets you get away with it, then you are something special. Only the dearest of the dear are allowed to call her by her actual first name.

Okay, so I want to know who this is and what you want with me. Obviously, you’re some tech-heavy underground group, because I have never seen coding like this before. And I’ve played inside some very intricate software.
So just to be clear, unless you plan on offering me a lot of money, I’m not interested in being recruited to whatever this is. I pick my own career. So if that ruins your plans, then too bad. Stop hounding me.

She absently chewed on her lower lip as she concentrated. Her fingers flying across the keys, typing in lines of coding that only those in the know could possibly understand. There was security on the system she was infiltrating, but it wasn’t anywhere near the best she’d seen. Hell, in her more than capable hands, this was like taking candy from a baby.
The protections tried to block her, but she knocked them down. When she couldn’t easily do that, she maneuvered around them. No sense in spending more time than she had to beating on something, even if she knew she could eventually take it down. No, this was about finesse. She wanted to get in and out without ever letting on she’d been there. And she would.
Only a few minutes passed before she sat back and smiled. There. All finished. The company could fire anyone they wanted to, but she was not about to let them lay off her dad. If anything, he deserved a raise. And now their records reflected that.
Someone had to look out for her father. And she was the only one around.
